Passover
God designed the Passover Feast to help us celebrate
His Salvation and to point us toward our Savior Jesus!
This is a day to remember. Each year, from generation to generation,
you must celebrate it as a special festival to the Lord. This is a law for all time.
- Exodus 12:14 -
What is a Passover Seder?
The Passover Seder celebration is essentially a meal with different elements that help remind us of Israel’s miraculous exodus from Egypt and our salvation through Jesus, our Messiah, the Passover Lamb of God.
Do Christians Celebrate Passover?
A Passover seder meal is a very meaningful and enlightening event. Christians can gain so much from this experience as they learn of God’s faithfulness to the children of Israel when He brought them out of Egypt into a whole new life of freedom. This was the precursor and symbolic of God’s faithfulness as he sent his son, Jesus, as the perfect sacrifice to free us from the bondage of our sins.
How can I Celebrate Passover?
The Passover meal is eaten in haste in remembrance of how the Israelites were preparing to escape bondage in Egypt. Participants should wear their shoes and have their jackets and bags nearby. On the seder table, there is a plate with various foods. Some are eaten and others are there to remind us of the many miracles God performed when He delivered Israelis out of Egypt. Below we have provided a Haggadah (which translates as, “the telling”) to read throughout the meal.
Who should I Invite to Join Me?
We encourage you to include children, Life Groups, family, and friends who follow Jesus to participate in Passover with you. This will be a time to enjoy a meaningful meal with those who are dearest to you.
